Medford: Market Shooting Leads to Two Arrests; Reckless Driving Crash Injures Two
Two arrests follow a Saturday shooting at OK Market, while a separate Friday-night crash leaves two seriously injured after investigators determine reckless driving was to blame.
Medford Police responded to two significant incidents over the weekend, resulting in multiple arrests, serious injuries, and ongoing investigations.
Arrests Made After Shooting at OK Market
On Saturday at approximately 5:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the OK Market on North Riverside Avenue after receiving reports of a disturbance and information that an individual had been shot.
Officers arrived quickly, located the victim, and provided aid while additional units secured the area. Preliminary information indicates the suspects and the victim exchanged words before the shooting occurred, after which the suspects left in a vehicle. Patrol units located the vehicle shortly afterward.
Police later identified the driver as Osbaldo Rodriguez, 25, who was arrested and lodged at the jail on a DUII charge.
The passenger, Juan Carlos Rodriguez, 47, was identified as the shooter. He was arrested on charges of Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition, according to police. The investigation remains ongoing.

Reckless Driving Leads to Serious Crash Friday Night
On Friday evening, Medford Police were called to a single-vehicle crash after a car collided with a tree. Initial reports from occupants claimed they had been fleeing another vehicle after being menaced with a firearm.
After further investigation, officers determined the menacing report was unfounded. One individual who had fled the scene before police arrived was later contacted and confirmed the crash was the result of reckless driving, not a pursuit or threat.
Two occupants were transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. One remains in critical care, while another will require plastic surgery for significant facial trauma.
The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team is assisting with the investigation.
