Search for Missing Hunter Continues in Mount Hood National Forest

Day 7 of the search for 51-year-old Devon Dobek, last seen October 31 southeast of Estacada.

MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST, Ore. — The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office continues to lead search and rescue operations for missing hunter Devon Dobek, who has been missing since Friday, October 31, 2025, after failing to return home from a hunting trip in the Mount Hood National Forest southeast of Estacada.

Thursday marked Day 7 of the ongoing search effort, which now includes approximately 50 searchers from specialized rescue teams across Oregon.

Search crews include volunteers from the Clackamas County Search and Rescue Team, with additional support from Portland Mountain Rescue, Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, Mountain Wave Emergency Communications, the U.S. Forest Service, and deputies from Multnomah and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices.

The Lake Oswego Police Department also joined the effort, providing a drone team to assist with aerial searches of difficult terrain.

Search operations continue to be challenged by poor weather conditions, including fog, wind, and rain that have limited visibility and access to certain areas.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
