Medford Police Recover More Than $141,000 in Stolen Radio Equipment; Suspect Arrested

Investigators link multiple storage-unit burglaries to a 33-year-old Medford man following a weeks-long investigation.

Medford Police have recovered more than $141,000 in stolen radio equipment and arrested a suspect following two burglaries at Medford Fire Department facilities earlier this month.

According to the Medford Police Department, the first burglary was reported on November 6 when personnel discovered that a storage container at a city fire station had been forcibly entered and several thousand dollars’ worth of radio equipment was missing.

A second burglary was reported on November 20, involving another storage container where equipment was being stored ahead of upcoming radio system upgrades. Detectives began investigating both incidents and identified similarities between the two thefts.

On November 24, investigators developed information identifying 33-year-old Christian Tommis Jacobson as a possible suspect. Detectives contacted Jacobson, who ultimately admitted to committing multiple thefts, including several incidents that had not yet been connected to him.

During the investigation, detectives recovered more than $141,000 in stolen radio equipment, linked to multiple burglaries. Police also cleared additional theft cases throughout Jackson County, where Jacobson is suspected of stealing high-value tools and selling them to local pawn shops.

Jacobson was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges including Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, Burglary in the Second Degree, and Theft in the First Degree.

The case has been forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
